That's me! Albeit 6 years ago when I got married on the Talyllyn railway. I don't sport the beard anymore, though my wife would like it back, so you never know. The wedding attire gives away my ancestral Scottish roots - my grandfathers lineage is of the Graham clan.
But I digress, as you can see I like trains, but I've not had a train set or model railway since I was a teenager - various reasons really from study to work, to not having a big enough house, to getting married - usual life stuff ! However I now live with my beautiful wife and two lovely children in a quite charming part of the world and lucky enough to have the space to not only build an indoor railway, but an outdoor ride on one as well.
It was while visiting the village fete that we came up with the idea of a miniature railway hire company and taking our proposed rolling stock out on the road to entertain the young and old at all sorts of events. This has brought some quite positive feedback from our local schools parents group and the local church who think this would make an excellent fund raising attraction.
So after many months of planning, visiting manufacturers and model engineering societies we're finally ready.
